Competing Interests

Competing Interests Policy

IKAD-ECCR requires authors, reviewers, and editors to disclose interests or relationships that could reasonably be perceived to influence their scholarly judgement.

Authors

Authors must disclose relevant financial, professional, institutional, academic, personal, or other competing interests. If no competing interests exist, authors should state this clearly.

Funding

All relevant funding sources should be identified. Authors should state the role of funders in study design, data collection, analysis, interpretation, writing, or the decision to submit the manuscript where applicable.

Reviewers

Reviewers must decline invitations when a relationship, collaboration, institutional connection, personal interest, or other circumstance could reasonably compromise independent assessment.

Editors

Editors must recuse themselves from handling manuscripts where they have a relevant competing interest. Another qualified editor must oversee the review and decision process.

Editorial-board submissions

Membership of the journal's editorial structure does not provide preferential treatment. Editors and editorial-board members submitting their own work are excluded from the review and decision process for that manuscript.

Management of disclosed interests

A disclosed competing interest does not automatically prevent publication or participation in peer review. The journal will assess whether disclosure, recusal, additional independent review, or another safeguard is appropriate.

Undisclosed interests

If a material competing interest is identified after publication, the journal may issue a correction, clarification, expression of concern, or other appropriate notice.
